Volkswagen ID7 is a new electric sedan that will appear at CES 2023
Prior to its official debut at the CES 2023 Consumer Electronics Show, which will be held this week in Las Vegas, images of the Volkswagen ID7, a new electric sedan, were uploaded on the Internet.
The star of this story joins the electric cars; ID3, ID4, ID.Buzz, and ID6 Electric SUV with 3 rows of passenger seats; as the family of ID automobiles from the German manufacturer Volkswagen (volkswagen) grows.
Although the body of the final production car is covered in what they refer to as "digital camouflage," the size and scope of the new German electric sedan should help shed some light on it. This is the first time that the German corporation VW has publicly unveiled it.
The most recent German Volkswagen fully electric vehicles are built on the MEB platform used by all Volkswagen Group electric vehicles, but they are not as small as the ID 4. A new Volkswagen ID7's wheelbase is 2,969 mm, bringing the vehicle's overall length to 4,940 mm. The electric vehicle is now 3 inches longer than the Volkswagen Arteon, and VW promises that this extra length will result in a big and premium cabin.
According to VW CEO Thomas Schaefer, "With the new ID7, we are expanding our electric model line into the upper sectors, the sedan will offer the greatest levels of technology and craftsmanship."
The interior of this new German vehicle will feature a new 15-inch touch screen, illuminated touch chips, an augmented reality display, and digitally controlled air vents that regulate the interior's temperature based on the outside temperature. The Volkswagen ID7 will also have "Hello Volkswagen" voice commands for basic operations.
The German company reserved the mechanical details of the new car and did not disclose the size and capacity of the batteries, but stated that the star of this news will be able to travel a distance of up to 700 km (435 miles) as a maximum on a single electric charge. The new car was concealed under the distinctive external camouflage.
